1. Prepare the ditalini pasta according to directions but cooking 2 minutes less than al dente.
2. Drain, and toss with a little olive oil. Cover and set aside.
3. In a large soup pot or Dutch oven, warm olive oil over medium-high heat.
4. Add the onion, carrots, and celery.
5. Sauté for 5-6 minutes until veggies are tender.
6. Add garlic and ginger and cook for another minute until fragrant.
7. Stir in the turmeric, thyme, pepper, cayenne, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
8. Add the chicken bone broth and bay leaves.
9. Bring soup to a boil over medium-high heat.
10. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and let simmer for 30 minutes.
11. Reduce heat to low and remove the bay leaves.
12. Stir in the chicken, pasta, and soy sauce. Bring back to a low boil over medium heat.
13. Remove from heat and garnish with parsley and green onion if desired.
