1. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil to the Dutch oven or soup pot over medium heat.
2. Add Italian sausage. Break apart and cook for 5-6 minutes until browned.
3. Transfer to a paper towel lined plate and set aside.
4. Add the remaining olive oil, onions, carrots, celery, bell pepper and zucchini to the pot.
5. Sauté for 5-6 minutes until veggies are tender.
6. Add garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
7. Pour in the red wine and cook for another 2 minutes while stirring.
8. Stir in the broth, tomatoes, and Italian seasoning.
9. Bring to a boil. Then let simmer covered over low heat for 10 minutes.
10. While the soup simmers, prepare the orzo in a small pot.
11. Cook for 5 minutes until orzo is slightly undercooked. Drain.
12. Add the orzo and Italian sausage to the soup.
13. Let simmer uncovered for 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
14. Remove from heat and stir in the parsley and basil. Top with Parmesan and serve warm.
