Maple Oatmeal Cookies

Step into fall with these sweet Maple Oatmeal Cookies! Topped with a decadent maple glaze...this cookie is hard to resist!

Directions

1. In a medium bowl add the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Whisk together until incorporated. Set aside.

2. In a large bowl with a hand mixer or in a stand mixer…beat the butter, brown sugar, sugar and maple syrup until well mixed.

3. Add eggs and vanilla and continue mixing until smooth.

4. Add the flour mixture to the wet mixture and beat until just combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula.

5. Fold in the oats until part of the dough.

6. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

7. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Make the glaze.

8. In a medium bowl, add the powdered sugar and maple syrup.

9. Whisk together until glaze reaches a honey-like consistency. Cover and set aside.

10. Drop teaspoon sized balls of dough on a parchment lined baking sheet.

11. Bake for 10-12 minutes until cookies are golden brown on the bottom.

12. Let cool completely in pan and then transfer to a wire rack.

13. Drizzle maple glaze on top of the cookies and let cookies sit for an hour until the glaze hardens.

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups quick cook oats
Maple Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons pure maple syrup
