1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line an 8 x 8-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
3. In a large bowl, beat together the butter and peanut butter until creamy.
4. Add the sugars and continue mixing until combined.

Add the egg and vanilla and mix for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
6. Add the flour mixture and mix until just combined.
7. Fold in 1 cup of the chocolate chips and peanut pieces.
8. Spread batter into prepared baking pan in an even layer.
9. Bake in the preheated oven 20-25 minutes.
10. Remove from oven and add remaining chocolate chips on top.
11. Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting. Let cool in refrigerator or freezer for best results.
12. Cut bars into pieces using a serrated knife. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
