Applesauce Bread
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
Maple Glaze
- 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons real maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons milk

How to cook Simple Applesauce Bread With Maple Glaze
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease four 6" x 3" mini-loaf pans with baking spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flours, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine sugar, eggs, and oil. Whisk until smooth.
- Mix in sour cream, applesauce, and vanilla until fully incorporated.
- Add flour mixture, mixing until ingredients are just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour batter into mini-loaf pans, dividing evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of loaf comes out clean. Allow loaves to cool in pan for 10 minutes before turning out onto wire racks to cool completely.
- Make the glaze: Combine confectioners sugar and maple syrup in a bowl. Mix in 1 Tsp milk. Add milk 1 tsp at a time, mixing until smooth and glaze is desired consistency.
- Drizzle glaze over cooled loaves. Allow to set for 5 minutes.
NOTES:
Note: If glaze is too thick, add milk 1 tsp at a time. If glaze is too thin, add confectioners sugar 1 Tsp at a time. Be sure to whisk until smooth after each addition before adding more.
