1. Follow recipe to make sugar cookie dough. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out dough on floured silicone mat or floured surface 1/4 inch thick.

2. Use a large or medium shaped cookie cutter and a small cookie cutter of the same shape to make a design in the middle of the cookie.

3. Place cookies on baking sheet and bake 5 minutes in preheated oven.

4. Fill center of cookies with crushed candies being careful not to spill candies onto cookie.

5. Place cookies back into the oven for 5 minutes more. Remove and let cool completely.

6. Decorate cookies with royal icing and sprinkles if desired.
